4 Easy Ways to Utilize Avocados Daily

We typically go about our day using a dressing, spreads, a sauce or even mayo to prepare a variety of foods. This can include salads, dips for our vegetables, a spread for our toast, mayonnaise for our sandwiches, or a sauce for our pasta. Instead of using the typical items that can be high in salt and overly processed, why not use avocados instead. Here are 4 easy and great ways to do this.

#1: Avocado Mayo:

Ingredients:

-2/3 cup mashed ripe avocado

-2 tsp white or cider vinegar

-2 tsp lemon juice

-3/4 tsp onion powder

-1/8 tsp garlic powder

-1/t tsp salt

-1/4 cup water

-2 tbsp olive oil

Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth. Use to spread on your sandwich instead of regular mayo.

#2: Creamy Avocado Dressing:

Ingredients:

-1 large ripe avocado

-1 clove garlic, peeled

-1/2 tbsp lime or lemon juice

-3 tbsp olive oil

-1/4 tsp salt

-1/4 tsp ground black pepper

-1/4 cup water

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender until appropriate consistency is achieved. Enjoy this as your salad dressing or use as a dip for your roasted or fresh vegetables instead of using ranch or blue cheese dressing.

#3: Avocado Pesto

Ingredients:

-1 large ripe avocado

-1 cup fresh basil

-1 cup fresh parsley

-1/2 cup pine nuts

-2 tbsp lemon juice

-2 garlic gloves

-1/2 cup olive oil

-1/2 tsp salt

-1/4 tsp pepper

Combine all ingredients in a food processor or high speed blender. Pulse 3-4 times and check consistency. Continue to pulse and stop in between until desired consistency achieved.  Pour on top of your favorite cooked pasta and enjoy.

#4: Avocado Spread

Ingredients:

-1 ripe Avocado

-1 clove garlic minced.

-salt and pepper for taste.

-squeeze of lemon juice

Use a fork to smash up avocados into desired consistency and add garlic, salt, pepper. Finish off with a squeeze of lemon juice. Mix until all ingredients combined. Add this to your toast or enjoy with some tortilla chips.
